Welcome to Nina’s Olivar, where every bottle shares a story of dedication, passion, and Spanish heritage. Grown and pressed in the sunlit groves of Almeria, Spain, Nina’s own farm produces the purest juice of olives—brought straight from our trees to your table. Our story begins in the arid, sun-drenched landscape of Almeria, a region known for its intense light and rich soil. It is here, on our family-owned estate, that we cultivate the olives that become Almeria Gold. We believe that true quality cannot be rushed or manufactured; it must be grown.
We employ sustainable practices like solar-powered irrigation and rainwater harvesting to protect the land that gives us so much.
By harvesting in the third week of October, it yields less oil, but it captures a flavor profile that is robust, vibrant, and exceptionally low in acidity.
Welcome to Nina’s Olivar, where every bottle shares a story of dedication, passion, and Spanish heritage. Grown and pressed in the sunlit groves of Almeria, Spain, our family farm produces the purest juice of olives—brought straight from our trees to your table.

As a woman-owned company, we approach farming with a blend of time-honored tradition and meticulous care. We oversee every step of the process, from the careful pruning of our trees to the early harvest in the third week of October. This early harvest yields less oil, but it captures a flavor profile that is robust, vibrant, and exceptionally low in acidity. It is this unwavering commitment to the "juice of olives" that makes Almeria Gold not just an ingredient, but an experience.

We farm with the future in mind. Our groves are EU-certified organic, and we employ sustainable practices like solar-powered irrigation and rainwater harvesting to protect the land that gives us so much. When you taste Almeria Gold, you are tasting the result of nature’s best work, guided by human hands that care deeply about the earth.
Our owner, Nina, is deeply grateful for the enduring support from the Charlotte community and local government, which has been instrumental in our journey. In turn, we are proud to champion local business, making our award-winning Almeria Gold available at mom-and-pop retailers across North Carolina to ensure our neighbors always have access to the finest quality.

A few years ago, a delightful family trip transformed into a life-changing venture. Captivated by the breathtaking beauty of Spanish olive groves rolling across the hills, we made the bold decision to purchase our very own small olive grove. Located in Sorbas, within the sun-drenched Almeria region, our plot of land is now home to nine hundred mature Spanish Arbequina and Hojiblanca trees.
Today, our land is fully classified as Organic, undergoing rigorous annual inspections to renew our EU Organic Farm Certificate, ensuring that every drop of oil meets the highest standards of purity.
Because we operate as an EU-certified organic grove, we strictly avoid the use of insecticides, pesticides, or herbicides. Instead, we believe in the natural healing wonders of the environment. Our trees thrive under the generous sun, which shines abundantly for 320 days a year, and the gentle, caressing winds that sweep through the grove.
For those seeking a touch of cinematic history with their culinary experience, you might be delighted to know that our oil comes from land once walked by Clint Eastwood. The striking desert hills of Tabernas—located just a short distance from our farm—served as the iconic backdrop for his famous film, The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly. To this day, the movie sets remain intact, standing as a major attraction in our unique corner of the Almeria region.

Faced with the challenge of drying ground aquifers in the Almeria area, we proactively adapted our methods to protect the land we love. Glenn French, who has the privilege of tending to the farm’s beauty daily, spearheaded our venture into Permaculture farming.
As responsible stewards of the earth, we now practice permaculture techniques designed to harvest rainwater efficiently. We have dug large swales at hundred-meter intervals across the farm, allowing running water to collect and sink deep into the earth. This vital process replenishes the water table rather than allowing precious resource to run off.
Our goal is to make our farm entirely self-sustainable. To achieve this, we have planted nitrogen-fixing trees such as Robena, Paulina, and Acacias throughout the grove. These trees naturally enrich the soil with essential minerals, supporting the health of our olive trees.
We have also introduced aromatic lavender as companion plants, adding biodiversity and beauty to the landscape. In the fall, our cover crop of barley works in harmony with the olive trees to further fix nitrogen in the soil. And when it comes to fertilization, we settle for nothing less than high-quality natural sources, utilizing horse and pig manure to keep our soil rich and productive.

Alongside Almeria Gold, Spain’s purest olive oil, we are proud to offer a curated selection of authentic Spanish foods. From vibrant spices to artisanal preserves.
